The Bathroom

Yay. The bathroom is finally finished no more getting up before the sun and going up to my parents house to take a shower before I head off to work. You don't really know how hard it is to not have a shower until you don't have one. Thankfully my husband and father-in-law were able to finish it without killing each other. As my husband says the can't work together but they recreate well with each other.

As a matter of fact they both went ice fishing on Saturday. Unfortunately, it was a dull day and they had no success. However, they are planning a trip to Taylor Park, near Gunnison, in a few weeks. Taylor reservoir is supposed to have really good ice fishing. A few year back we went camping there for memorial day weekend and did very well.

Well we are supposed to get more snow this week. It is supposed to move in Tomorrow evening and leave sometime Saturday. We shall see. I'm a little snowed out. I'd like it to warm back up again please. Welcome to Colorado.

The Robe

So my church choir, for which I am a member, is trying to get new robes. The church just recently had new carpet installed and we figured that with the new carpet the choir needed new robes. The old ones are ancient, at least 15 to 20 years old. The problem is there is not enough money to get them. We have about $500 dollars right now and the robes that we are looking at are about $60 dollars a piece and keep in mind we need 40 of them. So now we are trying to come up with ways to raise money. Thoughts have gone to a spaghetti dinner, having the men's group sing and people have to pay them to make them stop. This one might go over great since quite a few of them can't sing (my father happens to be one of them.) So if you can think of a way to raise some money please let me know.

Have a great rest of the day.

Sad Day in Our Village

Today is a sad sad day in our village. There was a 5-alarm apartment fire that began around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. The entire building is a loss. There are many many people who lost everything. It has hit close to home here at work. One of our employees lost everything he had. So if you all would please pray for all the survivors of this fire and the firefighters and police officers that are still working this smoldering fire. There are not even sure if everyone got out as the firemen haven't been able to enter the building yet.

Also please do not forget your local Red Cross. They are the ones that step out of the woodwork and help people when this sort of thing happens. If you feel so inclined please donate to your local Red Cross in care of the the Red Cross of the Pikes Peak Region or go to their website http://www.pparc.org/.

Thanks.

Brought to you by the letters S N O W and the Number 5

Well we are once again digging out after our 5th bout with snow. I like snow, I think it makes our village look pretty but after the 5th week in a row of 2 or more inches, I am ready for a break. Please someone give us a break.

Well on top of all this snow my husband and father-in-law are remodeling our bathroom. We are wanting to sell our house and the bathroom was in bad shape, mostly cuz it was old. The house was built in 1950's. All the sheet rock and the floor was ripped out. The outside wall had to be re-framed as most of the wood had rotted. Well to cut a long story short, when it snows the bathroom doesn't get worked on cuz the guys have to go plow snow. O the joys of owning your own landscaping and lawn care business. In the winter you plow snow to make money.

Well I should have a bathroom back by Sunday. One can only hope anyway.

My husband, who has lived here all his life says he hasn't seen snow like this since he was a little kid, Early 80's.

Here is a picture of some of the snow. Check out the mailman delivering mail on Friday.

Happy New Year

Well we have reached the year 2007. Yahoo. I can't believe it is already the year 2007. Well my husband asked me New years Eve what we were doing that night. I said the same thing we do every year. You go to bed by 10 p.m. I stay up and wake you a midnight so you can see the fireworks on Pikes Peak. Yes they set off fireworks on that great mountain of ours.

Well on top of that we have had 3 snows in the past 3 weeks. Craziness I tell you on top of that they are calling for more friggin snow. Oy. Although that did make for some interesting pictures of our mountain. I've got quite a few in which the snow is swirling around the top. I must post soon.

Happy New year All.
